This talk is talking about the researcher studies human connection- our ability to empathize, belong and love. She noticed that a large part of these "success person" can face or admit the weakness or disappointment or vulnerability.

I know sometimes we don't want to feel theses bad feeling, so we numb the vulnerability and leave it alone, like it didn't have any influence on our mind. But at the same time, we also numb our compassion, our joy, our gratitude and our happiness, because we can not selectively numb them. After that, we'll doing something to make ourselves feel happier to cover the bad emotion, but the truth is : problem isn't solved. And you also know: when the same thing happen again, you only getting worse unless you fight with it.

Maybe it will take a long time to accept these imperfect personality, the failure we made, the sorrow we have. But the most important is : you already have the courage to take the first step, and you know you'll become much stronger than before. 

When you can accept them. you also gain the power of vulnerability, then we stop screaming and start listening, we're kinder and gentler to the people around us,we're kinder and gentler to ourselves.
